The 9th Annual Caribbean
American Leadership Dialogue on “Business Opportunities in the
Caribbean” will take place at the Convention Center Renaissance Hotel
in Washington D.C. on Friday, November 16, 2007.
The themes to be addressed
include: Issues in Infrastructuies ; Workforce Development;
the Tourism Sector, Issues in Infrastructure and Reforming the
Finance Sector, and the Role of the Diaspora. As a result of the
recent hurricanes, the Dialogue will focus attention on specific challenges
and opportunities for reconstruction.
Since its founding in 1998,
the Dialogue has brought together Embassy Officials, US government
agency officials, representatives from multi-lateral organizations such
at the World Bank and the Inter-American development Bank and the private
sector to discuss challenges and opportunities to doing business in
the Caribbean.
Invited speakers include:
Caribbean Development Bank; Embassy of Trinidad; Embassy of Jamaica;
Overseas Private Investment Corporation; US Ex-Im Bank; US Agency for
International Development; and the Inter-American Investment Corporation.
Professionals and entrepreneurs wanting to participate in the opportunities arising out the reconstruction effort are especially encouraged to attend. Pre-Registration is Required.

The 14th Annual
Caribbean American Heritage Gala, hosted by Maureen Bunyan, Anchor,
WJLA TV 7 , will follow the Leadership Dialogue on “Doing Business
in the Caribbean”, which will also be held on Friday, November 16th,
2007 at the Renaissance. Tickets start at US$100.00 and
