DRAFT AGENDA 

Outline of Workshop:

The workshop will be organized in four parts:

  1. INTRODUCTORY PLENARY
  2. FUTURE SPACE IDENTIFICATION
  3. ACTION OPTIONS DETERMINATION
  4. SUMMARY PLENARY  

I. Introductory Plenary

Two experts will be requested to speak on topics such as the Caribbean at Present; and the Role of the Caribbean Diaspora.  In addition, the plenary will clarify expectations around the event to help ensure that participants engage fully in the process.  

II.  Future Space Identification

In order to achieve identification of future visions, the participants will be organized into groups of 8-10. The group will be tasked with analysis of various factors in the future. Factors to be discussed include for example: Political, Environmental, Technological, Economic, Demographic, Social.  

III. Action Options Determination

In this section, the participants will be tasked with identifying the role of the Caribbean Diaspora in the future as described as organizations and as individuals.  Preferences and options relevant to the chances and challenges will be also discussed.   

IV. Summary Plenary

Participants will recap the main findings of the day and form consensus around key requirements for actualizing the vision of a prosperous and stable  Caribbean in 2020, and the potential for the participation of the Diaspora in the development of sustainable futures for the Caribbean in 2020.
